"Easy Ways to Sprout Seeds for Your Chickens" and "Fermenting Feed Series" have been the best, hands-down -- informative, practical, and very useful. My chickens free-range, and it used to be hard to get them to come back to the coop in the evening. Now when I call, they come eagerly, anticipating their sprouted seeds. Next comes their fermented feed, which they gobble up, and which has cut my feed bill by over 50%. Interestingly, it has also cut down on the water they drink, even in summer, by easily 100%. It makes me wonder how much water was needed to digest the dry feed.
ReplyDeleteMatching the feed to the flock so roosters don't get too much calcium or so chicks get enough protein.
